Free Advice from the Experts

 Key Benefits:

  • Testing The Slab for Moisture Vapor Emission and pH Levels: A Standard for Testing the Dryness and Suitability of a Concrete Slab Intended to Receive Floor Coverings or Resinous Coatings Utilizing Anhydrous Calcium Chloride

Underlayment is a Floors Foundation:

Refer to flooring manufacturer’s specific recommendations. Condition the area to be installed, adhesive, underlayment and flooring at 65°F (18°C) or above for 48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation. Maximum temperature for use is 90°F (32°C). Floor must be sound, smooth, dry, clean and free of excessive moisture or alkali. Remove dirt, wax, polish, paint and all other foreign matter that would interfere with a good bond such as curing agents and sealers.

  • Slightly dampen concrete substrates with clean water and apply underlayment while damp. Do not leave standing water.
  • For a superior bond, Floor Primer and Latex Liquid Additive.
  • Mix powder into water slowly and carefully to the proper consistency.
  • Can be applied in one layer featheredge to 1/2" thick or two layers to a maximum thickness of 1".
  • Mix approximately 25 lbs of powder to 2-1/2 quarts of water.
  • Mixing containers must be clean as unused material will contaminate newly mixed underlayment.
  • Do not add additional water after the proper consistency has been reached. If underlayment starts to set before using, discard and do not attempt to remix.
  • Scratch or trowel to the substrate to be certain it wets properly and thus assures good adhesion.
  • Start finishing immediately using a steel trowel.
  • Do not over-trowel or re-trowel.
  • Clean tools with water frequently and dip trowel in water often to make finishing easier.
  • All finishing must be done within 20 to 30 minutes. Allow to dry 1 to 3 hours before installing floor covering.
  • Most adhesives will exhibit shorter working times when used over patch.

Finished Patch

Trowel able patch for smoothing and repairing floors. Developed to reduce curing time on pressed-for-time jobs.

Product Capabilities:
For smoothing and repairing of concrete floors, ramps, stairways, as well as non-porous substrates such as terrazzo, ceramic & quarry tile prior to the installation of floor covering. When installation over standard absorbent concrete, no priming is required.

ARDEX SD-P sets quickly so that a smooth, steel-troweled surface can be obtained readily. The finished surface hardens rapidly permitting the installation of most common floor coverings to proceed immediately - no additional drying time is required. Using advanced Portland cement chemistry with a self-drying matrix, ARDEX SD-P is ideal for patching and reaches a compressive strength of 4,200 psi.

Benefits:

  • No primer required over standard absorbent concrete.
  • Finish flooring can be installed in less than one hour.
  • Install from a featheredge up to 1/4" over large areas.
  • For moderate size areas, install from a featheredge up to 1" without the addition of aggregates.
  • All flooring adhesives which are compatible with concrete are compatible with ARDEX SD-P.
